Very well done. I wasn't too sure about what difference a detail would do on a white car. Now I'm convinced that it really does make a huge difference. Love the way you cleaned up around the unclipped light.

Thanks Chef !!

I dont normally remove indicator lights etc
But due to the amount of dust and dirt that was running from the indicator lights and the bonnet badge. I decided to remove them

It helped quite a bit in the long run and gave a much better finish.

White cars in general are very un-rewarding but iv been playing around and managed to get some decent gloss leves out of the white paint.

Well done, again

Awesome job

Thanks for taking the time to take more pics. It's the first time I've seen before and afters of a white car.

Quick question, generally what is the reading after detail? How much does it drop by?

Brilliant. Excellent results. Just a question concerning the readings before the detail...... Is it normal to get such low readings on the roof, doors, etc?

I see there are a few questions regarding paint thicknesses.

So ill try answer them as best I can.
During a correction its essential that readings are taken to verify the thickness of the paint prior to compounding and polishing
a healthy reading is anything over 110 micron But as you can see thats in a perfect world.

The thinnest readings are normally on the edges of the panels and the readings increase the closer you move to the centre.

The other thing to remember are repsrays and previous work that could have been done on the car. Those would also infulence and result in strange readings from one half of the car to the other. These factors are essential as the clear coat might be alot thinner than or thicker than the OEM readings.

During a compinding polish you can removee between 3-5 micron and even more when it comes to the removal of deep scracthes/RIDS.

The most import thing to remember is to remove the least amount of paint possible. You need to remember that the client needs to use this car for the next 3-5 years and will need the car detailing in the next 12-18 months depending on washing tecniques etc.
