Hi All,

This weekend I had the pleasure of detailing a 330d
Spent the grand total of 17Hrs removing what I can only describe as RID central. The entire car was covered in RIDS - For those of you who don't know what RIDS are you best look away now :)

* RIDS - Random Isolated Deep Scratch

RIDS are enough to make grown men cry - Yes i shed a few tears at 7am this morning when I still had 2 doors half a roof and a fender to finish up
Thats after spending the best part of 10 hours on the car.

I think I have broad shoulders for a reason, To hold a RUPES on a vertical panel for hours on end

So with out any more wiff waff here is the results after the pain

Car was washed/Foamed and clayed with Carways Hyperwash and Bil thammer Fine clay.
The panels were polished using the Rupes Bigfoot, MF pads, Foam pads and Menzerna FG400 and 106FA
Usual amounts of cloths etc ere used to complete the work

Before :

Some contamination - Okay LOADS of it

some prewash door jam shots

Snowfoam - 70ml of Hyperwash diluted into a 1l bottle

The mag rims were cleaned with the super awesome wheel woolies

Now for the hard part. Showing defects on a white car. Thye not great but u can at aleast make out those nasty RIDS

Paint Readings:

Bonnet

Roof

Door

So just so you all know - rear lights aswell as the front lights were polished to remove swirls and enhance clarity

This is what detailing is all about

All I can say is :ty::ty::ty::ty:

I catch myself being in the garage every 30 min to admire my car and your handy work:inlove:

Now if I can only convince you to tackle the X5 :fencelook:

Very well done. I wasn't too sure about what difference a detail would do on a white car. Now I'm convinced that it really does make a huge difference. Love the way you cleaned up around the unclipped light.

Thanks Chef !!

I dont normally remove indicator lights etc
But due to the amount of dust and dirt that was running from the indicator lights and the bonnet badge. I decided to remove them

It helped quite a bit in the long run and gave a much better finish.

White cars in general are very un-rewarding but iv been playing around and managed to get some decent gloss leves out of the white paint.
