Detailing clay

Philip, take a sandwich bag and put it on your hand and run it over the paint, then clay the paint and repeat, you will notice a difference.

Even my moms car, had 15000km on it, lives in the garage, gets washed every week. It even had lots of crap that the clay removed

Thanks for all the advise. Now I just need to find a good medium clay in Cape Town. There are lots of people that have No idea what clay is and what it does.

I helped a buddy with his car. As I said, he bought the kit from Meguiars. Worked 110%. Took a load of crap off from his car. It shines like a mirror now. Very smooth. Very clean.

We first had it washed at Soapy Rides. Then took it home and started with the clay and the detailing lube. Wiped it clean and applied Meguiars banana-scented carnauba wax and buffed it off with a mechanical buffer. Then did a hand buff with a microfiber cloth.

Took an entire afternoon but the car looks brand new. :inlove:

I cannot recall where, but I did see a clay kit at one of the builders, makros, games, or similar place in the Northern Suburbs (Durbanville) not too long ago, will have to keep an eye out again!

I've used the Sonax product before, I think it's called "Spray and Clay". Bought it at builders.

Using a clay bar on your car brings new meaning to the word clean. That, followed by a polish and wax works wonders. well worth the money, time and effort.
