Hi Guys,

I had a very bad weekend with one idiot smashing my car from behind claiming to have lost control of his 1979 MAZDA 626, although i believe it was just a case of reckless driving as the guy does not even have a drivers liecense, i need your advise as i need to do repairs on my bumper, i need to know where can i send my car to in order to fit a new bumper.
I also need to know how much judging from the pictures attached can i expect to pay for the damages, once i find a good dent doctor i will sent my car for evaluation and repairs

Hi Bud,

That bumper is easily repairable, no need to replace.

Difficult to see in the pics, the stiffner may be damaged as well.

But quote in under 5 min :)

I looked through your company website and looked for the nearest outlet, so i went to Ravi at centurion for a quote, he says he will contact me within the next 30 minutes. he says there is no need to remove the bumber, it is reparable!!!

It is hard to tell from the pic but your bumper looks fine. The stiffener behind the bumper could be dented though. But if it's not, it is really easy to repair.

Most likely you just need to respray your bumper. (don't know costs as I do that myself but white is so easy so I would guess R500)

Or if it is ripped you can buy a new bumper for +-R3000 from bmw and have it painted.

If the stiffener is bent you can add that to the above costs. I have seen them for sale for R1000 but not from bmw.

Regards
Jacques

thanks Jacques , it is always good to have a rough figure in the head to use as a yardstickh when dealing with dent doctors, especially when the problem is not that big but made to look as such.

The quote from Centurion Dent Doctors is R5905, I am not sure whether i should look for another quote elsewhere to compare though.

Wow, that is quite a lot. But can you post some better pictures? I would like to see why your boot lid is damaged.
