Stick to what u want Bro. I looked long and hard for my 325i. Wouldn't settle for a 323 either. 328 were unfortunately out a my budget. But I found a diamond in the dirt. Happy hunting boet

Yea kobus's 328 is a diamond! We'll here in cpt vr6's are rare and lack quality and mine should go fast. Might get 55000 - 60 000 and save up anther 5k for kobus's car

Howzit bro.

Just thought I would offer some advice.

Dont rule out the 323i on the basis of it being too slow for you, as honestly, your VR6 (in standard trim) isnt very much faster than a e36 323i, if at all. Dont be fooled by thinking that the largest engined BMW is always the best, it may be faster yes, but not always better. In this case, the e36 328i is supreme though ( I had 4). e36 323i is a beaut of a car, very well balanced and has sublime traction while cornering due to having less power to overcome grip. I have always seen it as a "baby 328i" due to its character. Way more so than the 325i e36, which has its own character.

As I said many times, the difference between oversteer and understeer is huge. Get to terms with it safely.

Being your first BMW, and assuming you havent driven a high powered one in anger before, maybe you should rather look at what suits your level of experience better. It could be the difference between enjoying the incredible handling of a BMW within your (initial) limits or spinning out because you over cooked the power on a corner. This is where the difference between owning a 323i and 328i as a first car comes in.

Later model 6 cylinder e36 came with traction control, but they cannot be relied upon they same way you would with e46 asc/dsc, because its just too primative, as a friend of mine found out the hard way.

What ever your choice, you cant go wrong with an e36. They have engineering integrity that late model BMW's (and most cars) can only dream of. I owned 6. And they all spectacular. They are in my eyes. the best BMW's ever produced.

Damn... I miss my e36 everyday.

Thanks a lot for the info, the reason being why I love e36 so my his that my friend had one and I drove it quite often. It was a M3 (lol) Going sideways is too aw sum! And I think the 328i is closest to it and it's in my price range. I'd buy an m3 e36 but cost is the issue.

There was a blue m3 e36 today, beaut! The guy came over to my car and asked how much do want for it? I said I'm looking for 60k. He asked what's the reason for selling? I told him about my love for e36. Then He tells me he would swap my car and 10k.... I thought to myself damn!!! This is a heck of a deal! So now I get into this car... Exterior looks amazing! Will upload photos... Then interior is average. Seats are good but knobs inside aren't so great.

Boom 390 000km! I thought nee, this car must be gefok. So I told him I'll think about it. Now in my head I'm thinking no ways. Nt even for a straight trade will be worth it. It has service history till 320km and engine was redone, air filter changed and it's due for a big service.
Any opinions on this? How does the car even run lol

Don't forget the golden rule: "The cheapest M is always the most expensive!"
Whatever the price of the M, triple it is what you are going to spend on it...
