Took the plunge and flared the fenders to make the 20s Vossens fit properly that was still causing some rubbing on the rear and front even after the fenders were rolled in. On a stock suspension I cant see the need for rolling or flaring the fenders on 20s with the correct off-set. But with a lowered suspension some work had to be done. After the fenders were rolled in the wheel would hit just above where the fender was tucked in; so flaring it was the only option or going the aftermarket route.
I was very uncertain about how this would turn out. After a couple of weeks and R5,700 later the job was done and here is the result. I am very pleased to say the least. :joy:
Took pix of various angles to give you an idea.
OTHER FENDER CONVERSION OPTIONS:
Raiding the M3 e92 for OEM fenders is always a good start. :=):
Quick comments:
I think the part numbers for the M3 rear fender and 335 rear fenders are the same even though they look completely different. Very weird. The m3 e90 fender front and rear will fit the e90 335, it just won't meet up with the wider front bumper. However, if you replace the front bumper and both fenders it should fit, but you may have issues with the bonnet since the overall shape is different and may not align. The mounting points on the 335 fender is not the same as the M3 either, so this conversion may turn out costly.
The other big concern is the fender well liners because the stock ones are not going to fit on the M3 fenders. And the underpanels will have to be replaced as well if you do this.
Or you can look at Duke Dynamics which Rennzport promotes:
Or look at these options...not sure about the quality: Bodykits
