Decat or Freeflow???

Just a silly question but, if you put on a free flow exhaust system, doesn't that involve the exhaust being decatted at the same time? So opening up the exhaust's ability to breath by removing the cats is just one step towards gaining a free flow of exhaust gasses, isn't it? Which must mean that you gain more from a free flow exhaust than just removing the cats, surely.?

IF the exhaust guy knows what he is doing yes you will gain more form a full system, but on a lot of cars a decat gives almost the same gain for way less money :)

Nope, safe to say everyone loves their decatted car. If your not a fan of the tinny sound like the m3 then just replace the cats with resonators instead of straight pipes.

Then there are ones in the headers sometime as well. Gonna be harder to spot. Left has Cat right doesn't:

If you just see welded pipes then you know its removed

i know my car has had the software upgraded and remaped by the previous owner.
Its got a lot more torque compared to a std 320d which i test drove the other day. If removing cat can give me more.....i would be :joy::joy::joy::joy:
and then of to get a Dyno done
