Decat on e90 325i

Hi guys,

I was wondering if it would be worth it to decat my 325i? This will be purely an attempt to get better fuel consumption, nothing else. Worth?

If so, what exactly should I install (in terms of foolers/silencers/etc.) for the car to sound (maybe a tiny bit louder :=)) similar to what it does currently? Would the car have to be dyno'd as well?

Finally, where in the Durban vicinity would be the best place to get this done?

removing the cats from your mani means you will have to do software. Which will give you slightly better fuel and added power.

Regarding the noise factor. It will be louder, just depends on what size exhaust boxes you get. the bigger the quieter.

Bud, what sort of fuel consumption do you currently get?

Getting ~13.5-15l/100km :thumbdo:

Granted I only do short distances, but only a little bit better would make a big difference.

I used to get around 7.5km/l to 8.3km/l. I found it best to accelerate rather aggressively and get to my cruzing speed as soon as possible and then lift off and keep it in say 5th or 6th. Don't pussy foot the car.

And like vr said, it's decay with catfoolers and software so you looking at R8k plus. Is that really worth the small gain in consumption?
