So guess what happened to me on the N17 at the new Nigel Off ramp on my way to the Meet Up... Cruise Control at 105km/h, me and the wife chatting away, looking forward to meeting you all, slight, slight drizzle (Wipers on slowest intermediate setting) Going through patches and puddles of water...the next moment BMW in sideways slide into oncomming traffic, managed to correct, then slid of the road missing bridge pillar by inches, missing stormwater ditch with about 1 meter and ended up 3 meters down the embankment...

Swithed off DSC and floored it... Managed to get back out onto the road, stoppped, put on a new pair of undies and examened for damage... Left rims full of fine scratches, 2cm scrape on the left side sil, and small rubber difusser under car torn. :dropjaw:

Drove to Springs with HUGE vibration, car feeling like its want to self destruct by shaking it to bits over 80km/h. Stopped at garage and borrowed their Fire Hose to wash the rims off which had about a 3cm thick crust of mud on them, pulled away and all was good! Turned around and went home... Taking Munich into BMW for a checkup, just in case...

This was the closets call ever! One guy stopped and said he was sure he saw the car lifting on two wheels as we dissapeared down the embankment thinking that we rolled, the next moment we are pealing up the embankment with mud flying like a 4x4 on a Vleesbaai dune. Adrenalin..its amazing stuff.

Anyways, sorry for not making it guys. Please lets arrange a meet up again... Ill try my best to get there safely next time!!!

BMW M...
all I can say is glad you're ok.
but that was no reason not to show, infact, that's just the kind of story you need to tell in person.
Next time bud, next time, glad all worked out ok.

Then, to everyone on the run, it was really a great turnout, met some new faces, and saw some awsome cars, ( refering to the 6 and the 1) :)
Thanks again guys, as always it was fun.

The 6 & the 1 dont check the forum, so wont see your message :) But that guy with the 1 loves modding his cars.. then when he gets bored, he sells the car and starts again on another car..

Hey guys
I'm getting a bit concerned hearing the BMW's going side ways for no reason and at slow speeds, 3rd posting like this that I have read since joining the forum:thinking:. One guy here at work also lost control of his BMW going through a puddle of water but the Merc infront of him went through without issues. Any explanations?
I must admit I didn't experience any issues while driving on wet roads during last week, traction felt pretty good. First time since buying the BMW that I had to drive in wet weather.
