Dealership Advice needed * Seriously Frustrated

So Finally the Dealership gets back to me saying the tyre will be there on Monday for replacement.

3 Weeks later nogal.

I sent them a mail stating all the other things wrong with the car now and told them that its ok :) they can keep the tyre and the car, I will take my business to cedar isle or back to VW..

No response...:bangdesk:

List of problems now:

1. There is a scratch on the rear bumper that was supposed to be sorted out that wasn’t. The car wasn’t washed (which was really disappointing) when I got it back so I only noticed it when getting the vehicle washed that weekend, this is on top of the fact that my personal belongings were Stolen from the car and I have not even received an apology.
2. The car takes unusually long to start up in the morning.
3. The alarm keeps malfunctioning
4. The car pulls heavily to the left, this has been since delivery and is getting progressively worse. It is even worse under braking.
5. There is a metal on metal sound when you turn the steering at full lock.
6. There is some sort of liquid leaking from the undercarriage on the front right hand side of the car, was only pointed out to me this week at work.
7. The gearbox is extremely whiny at low revs. I have driven a few other 325i and 125i’s with the same Steptronic box in the last few weeks and they did not whine like this. There is also some sort of rattle when you accelerate.
8. Why was I called to ask if Smash and Grab should be fitted to the vehicle the day before I picked up the vehicle, and then told that the car had been for smash and grab on the morning I took delivery. I was told that the car could been for Auto Armor which I highly doubt as I would have not been able to open the window that same day (48 hours is normal). Now I know at the end it was said that the Smash and grab would be thrown in, but this was not in fact the case because I now have the pics from the Auto trader Ad where the car already has smash and grab on it.

I really cant be going back and forth with these guys for every little thing that goes wrong with a car that I only purchased under two months ago and be without a car for 3 days at a time. We all have jobs and its not our jobs to be chasing them, its theirs to be chasing us as we pay their salaries....wtffffffff

Ask him who will be paying for the other half of the tyre because you paid for the whole car.
Once again it shows how committed a dealership is. I had my 320d 1 day and I had an oil leak only to find out a stone hit the sump MP refuse to pay because its damage BUT THE DEALERSHIP FIXED IT FREE and because of that, I bought in total 3 cars from them..

So it can be done.. Good luck bud

You need to take the car back the longer you sit with it the less chance you have , that anything is going to happen you need to contact whoever financed the car and tell them you taking it back and tell them the story ,

Take it back and cancel the deal. Perhaps your friend was trying to screw you over, he is a car salesman after all...
Never rush signing legal papers!

How can you call a person who is trying to screw you over a friend?

So the dealer principle called me finally and sat on the phone with me for over 45mins listening to everything I had to say. He is personally booking the car in and he wants to go through the snag list with me when I drop the car off. They are also giving me a loan car, until the issue is sorted out.

They are paying for the full tyre and he wants to get to the bottom of this.

So quick update guys.

After Two weeks, and two courtesy vehicles, I just got my car back from BMW, drove straight back to the office and this is the email I have had to send.

Hi Venisha,

Thank you so much for your help today. I just got back to the office and these are the things still wrong with the vehicle.

1. The car is still pulling heavily to the left, it’s definitely not the road camber as even when on the oncoming lane the vehicle does not go with the road.
2. The “Gearbox” whine is still there, just as it was when I dropped the vehicle off, this cannot be a power steering problem as it is only prevalent under acceleration and does not get worse when turning the steering. It is a constant noise under acceleration until the exhaust tone drowns it out at higher revs. It’s a very similar sound to the power steering pump noise.
3. The scratches on the door from opening and closing are still there. I pointed this out when I dropped the car off.
4. There are still no valve caps on the wheels.
5. I have no received the roadworthy I requested over two weeks ago.
6. The brake pedal is loose, there is a lot of play from side to side. I will check if this is normal tomorrow when at JSN.
7. The new tyre that they have replaced on the vehicle has a different speed rating to the existing tyres. Infact an inferior tyre.

If I come across anything else, I will let you know. I am extremely disappointed and upset though with this vehicle and that it’s been at Club Motors now for two weeks and it is given back to me in this state.

Again I would like to thank you for your time and your willingness to help, I know that these issues are not in your control and I appreciate what you have done so far to ensure that it gets back to me to my standards.

Hi Yunus,

I am having more issues with the car but I really don’t have the time to drop the car off and be without a car as this is going to hamper my work schedules.

I can’t be sitting without a car for another three days as my job requires me to constantly be mobile. I also do not expect to have these problems with a vehicle I purchased not even two months ago especially not a BMW premium selection vehicle. I am extremely unhappy with this purchase and the fact that I have had to wait three weeks just for an answer regarding the tyre, a tyre which was already damaged on the floor, which I would have readily accepted responsibility had I caused the damage and had I not had proof that the damage was already there. I was also told the damage was not visible in the pictures, if that’s the care, let me bring the device on which I took the pictures and show whoever is concerned the damage, the exact tyre markings and how I know for sure that the damage was there.

I by no means expect something for nothing, but I will not pay for something I do not get. I paid a premium for a car based on excellent service received in the past. I pay a premium for a hassle free transaction and I pay a premium for a premium product free of defect.

I am really not happy with this vehicle and the amount of following up I have to do just to get what I paid for. I sat without a vehicle for 3 days considering that the vehicle was to be delivered to me the very same day. I got no feedback the next day, I had to make my own way to your dealership only to be told that my vehicle is not there and that there is a problem with the tyre. I get the vehicle back unwashed and the alignment is still the exact same way it was. Does it take two days to do balancing?

I have been very patient in this whole process and I have not escalated it as we have dealt with you before and received brilliant service but now I am frustrated to a point where I no longer want this vehicle, so please trade this vehicle and give me something else even if it’s not a BMW. We are travelling to Durban Next Friday and still don’t know how we are going because of these issues with the vehicle and I refuse to use this car because of all these problems. So put yourself in my shoes because I work really hard for my money, would you pay a quarter of a million rand for all these problems, not be able to take my new car on a road trip and still get feedback in drips and drabs?

I look forward to your response.

So they replaced the Power steering pump for God knows what reason and apparently tightened up the suspension both of which I did not ask for. :bangdesk::argh: Im so furious that I don't even know what to do.

On a high note, I can finally fill fuel without having to open the cap with my house keys and I have a tyre with no bubble in it.

Sigh:nonono:
