Daytime driving lights e70 2011 x5

Good day all

I am struggling with my 2011 e70 x5.

When i activate the daytime driving lights from the idrive system both the halos and xenon main beams come on. I have had the light switch on position 0 as well as auto. (Also, both the halos and xenons are yellow in colour, not white)

As far as I understand, only the halos should be on.

Has anybody had this experience before?

From what i know, the halo's pre 09/2012 were not DRL, so the low beam had to be on, when they made the change to LED driving lights, then only the halo's came one. Check your option list to see if they specified DRL via lights menu as an option. If it has this, then the low beam would come on too.
