Dastek Chip

Okay guys...Some help...

Long story short, Took my car for a dyno and im not happy with it. The dastek dealer himself said something is wrong and the chip is not tuned properly. he said the car would do better if the chip was not there.

Now, Can i take it back to Dastek to remove it? Should i pay for this?

well i would definitely recommend chiplogic, but they remap so they dont use the unichip... im not sure who would do a good job on the unichip maybe someone local could advise :)

might be worth going to chiplogic anyway and selling the unichip after they awesome at NA tuning

Chip logic does fit and map dastek chips, but i personally recommend autotrix.

Stars is in Durban...I think this guy needs a jhb tuner...

How about trying Ross @ RBTS

Thanks for the input guys...Yes i need someone in Gauteng...

I just spoke to OB at chip logic.... Sounds quiet impressive for the gains expected.

Waiting to hear back from him...

Even though this graph looks very "funny" it seems OK... did some calculations quickly and the values are right!
Yet it has too many "zickzacks"

I recalculated power from your torque graph by hand .... nothing else

i have had numerous discussions with dastek in the past. they mentioned that depending on the mods being done one could even see worse numbers after chipping. :nonono:

If you are in JHB, I would recommend RBTS racing. Ross there knows what he is doing and the Uni Q chip on my car did wonders.

depends on how long you have had the chip for and who you bought it from, I know dastek has a limited return policy whereby if you are not happy with the results you can take it back for a refund...

but by the sounds of things you might have had it for a while so might not win there...

+1. I unfortunately have to agree here. I have a DASTEK chip in my car and noticed that especially the guys with the N/A cars are struggling with a bit of power loss after a chip.

It seems that straight after the chip the car does look promising but im not sure if the ECU then starts messing around as the car gets 'run in' and you actually lose a bit of power after a few weeks.

Thats why I was sceptical to go just anywhere. But ain't dastek the developers of the uniq chip?
