Car is old, with intention to keep I think giving it to the dealer was the right choice, anything goes wrong going forward you have a recourse with the dealer, their work is guaranteed, 37k is also for peace of mind, I would have done the same, if it's within budget, why not... Happy motoring bud

Folks,

I give you the following equasion to ponder...

Dealer = Buttsex ....

Sounds like a good idea, but never really is, and leaves you with that "WTF" feeling.

Sorry to hear about the (financial) loss. I hope it is the end of the cooling system problems. I had quite a bit of work done on mine - incl the radiator fan and it is fine now. Radiator @ Silverton R1200.
Enjoy your ride :thumbs:

For that price you could have upgraded your m54b22 to a used (apprx 80 000km) m54b30 engine and management...... 2 x times

I am happy about everything except the $$$
I have to start repaying the old man.. But I'm not complaining
I am very happy with the end results. And with the warranty, if anything goes wrong on the stuff they did, I don't have to pay a cent.

And R37k was definately not in any budget. Was an unplanned expense. So quite a dent in cash..

The sales pitch would be:

Only R1541,66 over 24 months.

I would rather pay that on a BMW than an old Ford :biglol:

Well, look at the bright side, at least you have a 2 year warranty on all the parts and 12 months on the labour.
