I know what Coisman would say.....
It is crazy, but also true that many "stealers" in this country of ours does not have that kind of insurance and some of them think that their "on vehicle's owners risk" signboard will give them a free pass.
Sad thing is that the insurance is still reasonably cheap currently.
Our juridicial system lacks the guts to have such liability claims adressed properly and quickly.
It is such a pity...
You can ask the stealer beforehand if they have Internal and extrnal risk as well as liability insurance. This stealer needed defective workmanship to, because it seems these workers do not know what they are doing...

Here in SA all the dealership has to do is pay your insurance access.
They reacon you have insurance, so if something happens, it's your problem, they will ONLY cover the access.
So here is where I am clever, BMW Insurance is my insurance...
But still, I had to replace my soundsystem's Sub, after I realized that someone had messed with the gains on my amp,
and overloaded the Sub, (1400w monoblock amp, 600w sub) anycase, whole cone split open.
I ranted and raved, and threw a tantrum infront of ALL the other clients.
then I picked up a Beeld newspaper that they had in the dealership, and started phoning them...
needless to say the dealer principal came over, took me to his office and a checque was speedily issued.

I like your approach Coisman, I think mine would have been similar. but yea, I don't take my cars to dealers for anything, and for a damn good reason too. Don't trust anyone anymore.

A few years back I have thrown a wheel spanner and a 4 pound hammer at one of his guys who told me that wheel nuts loosen themselves while driving.

Needless to say, the workshop manager came to me:"Sir we have a board up...
it says remove all valuebles"
So I told him they promote theft, so I am going to arrest him as a co-conspirator to commit theft... :thumbsup:
So quickly the money was returned, sommer out of his pocket.

I read that M5 story.
Now here is the thing, take my car for example. It has a couple of body chips, but that suspension is still stock, there has never been any work to it on a structural level. They did spray the front which they cocked up (and i fixed) but thats fine, its black so you expect a couple of stone chips.
Now, if this was to happento my car, I would loose it. I spent about 4 hours on just that car when i bought it to make sure that it is mechanically & structurally perfect (or in good condition), and now to have it stuffed up.....

That's how I felt just looking at the pics and reading the story last night! And there was another story by one of the guys commenting on that site where his M Coupe got severely damaged by a porter before the intended work was even done - and it was the Cops that informed the customer of the damage, not the dealership. Took 2 - 3 months to repair the damage at the dealership's expense!
LOL, was doing some 'spit'n'polish' on the car a bit earlier and saw a chap sitting in one of these glorious M5's outside a neighbour's driveway, a black one too, idling as if to taunt. That V10 is a thing of beauty but also somewhat odd - it sounds so strangely diesel like when idling, but then he must have read my mind and drove off with moderate enthusiasm. M5 engine and exhaust note - that's spine tingling stuff I tell you!
