CSL Reps

Hey Peeps,

I have been looking for decent csl replica wheels for my e36. Most important is that they are staggered and are quit deep at the back. My first choice would obviously be OEM, however, i feel that 19" is just to big for the 36's. So i found what is in my opinion the best looking csl reps...VMR CSL style 18s. They are staggered and look great. But before i commit to an overseas purchase, i wanted to find out if anyone can get these wheels here or if anyone know of csl reps here in SA that are as good and are staggered. I want gloss black, not matt black.

Thanks:rollsmile:

I'm not sure if gloss black is the best colour choice, if it is concavity you are looking for at the rear, with a full black rim you lose alot of detail in the rim design, as at a glance you wont really notice what rim it is. I think gun metal grey is best of both worlds.

Maybe, but my car is Artic Silver and all the chrome on my car is black, still has the black beading etc, and i am thinking of spraying all the matt black on the car gloss black, so it will go nicely..

With regards to the detail, iv never trulu been fond of black mags for exactly that reason, you loose detail, but i have seen some e92's and some 335's with this colour combination and i love it:inlove:

In my opinion, you cant go wrong with grey rims on a silver car, I know the one above is an E46, but just showing the colour combo.

Please dont go csl or vmr style - choose a wheel closer to its era and there are some OEMs out there which will make your car look unique.

Ignore the boot spoiler and focus on these Style 5s - damn, cant get the pick up
I will post it on a new thread for your attention

Na,I think the CSL mags look great on the E36 but they must be 18s and staggered. The 19s are to big.my current mags are from the E90, and I think they suit the car very well...but honestly,my all time favourite mags to put on my car would be the E34 throwing stars. But try finding those...

Those M sport 18s you have on there look great cos they have nice stagger - Have you seen the style 5s, BBS - IMO any wheel with a lip would look good on an E36.
But thats just the look I like

Even meeeee, I love lipped mags. But they must be the right mags. I also love the Axis Milanos. But they only come in 19s.

Oh, and my mags are 17s. OEM.

Also not sure if the E36 suspension is designed to cope with a 19" rim.
Serano is right, besides the asthetic appeal of the bigger rims, the 19 might be too hard on the suspension bits, and provide bad ride quality, unless its been beefed up with newer parts.
