CSL Magic Stick!

I know there are nay-sayers out there that swear blind that the S54 cannot gain & may even quote overseas sources as "evidence". Well I say take the overseas sources & stick it. It must be said that the S54 is a dream of an engine to tune, with turbo-like gains. We have done over 30 in the last few months & every single one has gained big. And we have done close to 10 CSL's as well.

I think Loco's dyno's & times have been well documented as together we ventured on a journey down to low 13's at altitude.

Dre's CSL has also been a major talking point, flowing well over 300g/s, making 358hp at ODR dyno. In fact it does so well, it sparked a rumour that he has nitrous hidden in his front bumper. Always a compliment when people think your car's have nitrous when they don't.

We did another 3 CSL's recently. All with pretty decent gains. Let me start with this one where we did a decatt then tune. Independent dyno, operated by an independent company.

Then we did Mark's & defied logic. Reason being his car was already decatted when it came to us. So we tuned it on the dyno. It never left the rollers & these were the gains just from tuning, same day, couple of hours apart.

A while back we did another one, but this car still has it's catts in place. Same procedure, custom tune on the dyno, no hardware.

Nice going and we all know that the CSL is least happiest on the dyno. That induction loves 140+.

Yeah, CSL's tend not to shine on a dyno. Induction is sucking hot air from the dyno room, when it's designed to take in cold air from outside the engine bay. And no dyno can replicate the airflow you get on the road. CSL really shines on the road, especially when the induction starts to work. Works so well people think it has NAWS!

with regards to this comment, 358hp is indeed a great figure on the dyno, however, ive seen this car on the street, and i expected a whole lot more... seems like this car is only impressive on the dyno, but on the street its just another ///M...

The results after the remap are about 10% increase, what, did you expect it to run with focus ST's now? :mmm:

i think smok has raced this very same csl , also smoks car doesnt make that sort of power .
so he has some first hand experience of how the csl runs on the road as compared to his modded 4dr m3

So you ran it a while back & now when you ran it, it wasn't as fast? But the last time you ran it, it pulled you soo badly you told everyone it had nitrous. So now it didn't pull you so badly it surely doesn't have nitrous anymore. Is that correct?

We don't really gauge much on street racing. Too many uncontrolled variables & unscrupulous activites make it a lottery. But hey, if it makes you happy, then yeah the car is slow.
