I have seem guys online complaining about the trims. Especially the piano black.
Imagine u pay so much for a vehicle yet must still look at alternative. I have seen guys trying to put ppf on the piano black
I have PPF on the piano black on my F90 M5 🤦‍♂️ in the F10 M5 the equivalent area was leather trimmed and still looked great even after 140000km, even on cars without the extended leather.
This is also partially why I am always in disbelief with the guys praising the look of these new interiors.... Same with the screens. you're getting something worse and paying so much more for it while it is much cheaper for the manufacturers. They look good in pics, but there are things you won't know until you live with it and unfortunately media or influencers who aren't just paid shills only actually get to spend a few hours (at best, a few days) with these things. Either way nowadays it seems as long as it looks flashy and 'new' it doesn't actually matter whether the materials are of good quality or not.
Somehow this greenwashing of 'recycled' or 'recyclable' plastic parts of inherently lower quality than 'virgin' or more durable (but non-recyclable) material backfires for the actual consumer. You end up having to trash parts and buy new ones at some point. Companies get to 'appear green', while achieving the opposite in practice, and then they make money from it in the end
This is my F90 now at 50-ish thousand km. If you wear a watch or your wife is using the car and wears bracelets/chains etc, no matter how careful you are, it is impossible to avoid a scratch or two. This is not the case were it trimmed in leather and if it was a 'polishable' surface like genuine carbon or a real laquered finish, you could maintain it adequately. The feel of the setup buttons for exhaust/engine/suspension/steering to the right here are also not great... hopefully they have improved in the G90. The F10 was more satisfying to manually configure in term of how the buttons feel. Smaller issue since my settings are mapped to the steering buttons but I am sure sometimes we all like to pretend we are in fighter jets pressing buttons before launch
