Correct spec for power steering fluid

Does anyone know what the correct spec of power steering fluid is for a 2004 318i . Is it Dextron II of II or maybe something else? The manual doesnt mention anything about power steering fluid.

hmmm. always thought it was normal ATF. didnt know u get diff specs

gerald5ive ATF=automatic transmission fluid but they are available in diff specs. Manufacturers usually specify a spec to be used in their gearboxes power steering etc. Have heard of Dexron II ,III Mercon. Dexron is a GM spec and Mercon is Ford.

As far as I can remember, on the power steering dip-stick cap, it states "ATF Only"
