correct offset for e36 mags .

Will a set of 19 inch 8.5J ET35 rims fit a e36 328i ? The centre hole is 72.6 mm .
Here is a pic .

Running that offset with an 8J wheel will work. You may need to work the fenders for that spec.

Thats what I do not want to do ....
Normal ET is 20 for a e36 , so this is 15 mm further out .

No bud. It's the other way round. 35 offset sits further in. You can't just look at offset. The width of the wheel contributes to the stance and the way it sits. Standard wheel must be like a 7 or 7.5J or so if running an ET20.

The e36 owners handbook says offset is 47 mm and the rims are 7J .
So they will only move 12 mm outwards .
Smaller ET moves rim outwards .
Im in East london and rims in Gauteng ......

Yeah, ok. Plus another 18-19mm to cater for the added width of the wheel if it is 8.5J :idea:

Ray thats for a 15 inch rim, OEM 17's was 7.5J with an ET of 41mm running on either 225/45 or 235/40 tyres. Any rim bigger or broader means using thinner profile & narrower tyres.

I saw rimz that I wanted :inlove: it was 17 x 8.5j x ET30 but fitting would be a problem, it means using really narrow tyres & stretching and also alot of camber adjustment....
