Can anyone tell me if there has been a successful swap over from the std e90 320d cooler to maybe a 335i or 135i cooler?

If this has been discussed please pop me a link?

So it's possible, you just need to get silcone couplers as the inlet pipes on the N54 cooler is larger in diameter than the stock diesel ones.

You need to get a silicone reducer/coupler to accommodate the 56mm internal diameter of the stock piping to the 82mm external diameter of the cooler inlet pipe. You need something that's roughly 250mm in length.

Kish tried fitting it on my 320d and we ran into this hiccup of the different diameters and I haven't had a chance to source the couplers yet.

Get a e90 330d cooler

My E90 320D LCI cooler basically needs replacement so sourced a pre-lci E90 330D cooler from Clifton. Nikhil is kindly assisting me.
When I measure the seals I got from bm, it seems like the hot pipe will fit, but yes, get similar measurements on the cold pipe, so will need some modification & adaptors
I saw somewhere online that when bm themselves do the PPK option on the E90 320D LCI they use the 330D cooler - wonder if they change the entire cold pipe or have a secret adaptor or something ?

I know on the F30 320d the 330d cooler is a direct fit and no adaptors needed. You can check on realoem.com (The 330d cooler and power pack upgrade for the 320d is the same part number)
