Seems that if you don't check the temperature gauge you won't know that there is an issue.
My consumption went up. I am also worried about the same, i fitted an OEM thermostat with BMW coolant, never drive the car hard when cold, it parks in a garage at night and underground parking during the day so its not like it gets exposed to extreme heat and cold.
I changed these at 153000, so it hasn't lasted 45000km..... :skit:
Mine is at 195k kms and have no idea if the thermostat/s have ever been changed??:skit:
What should the running temp be more or less when warm... I thought that if it was cooler it was better? Also, how does one know what the temp is without a temp gauge?
mine is running at 87 degrees when on the highway but while idling in traffic I get 92 degrees

I have used the above product and found my fuel consumption has decreased in both my Polo TDI and 530D
Those temps are perfect.
