Hey there

You going to get around R230K - R250k for it as a trade in. Maybe negotiate with the dealer where you are purchasing the F80 from? They might be able to get some additional value from the DP.

You are right, firstly they offered R220 and then R250 after negotiations, then offered to load the short fall on the new purchase, not my favorite thing to do, I don't think i will be going ahead with the deal, after all two more years are not bad.

keep the v8 and then buy the new one when this one is paid up.if u trade ur just making dealers money, even if u sell private u still lose.

Two more years to go is not bad, however the pain I feel when a 240/140i pulls next to me at the traffic lights is unbearable knowing I dont have answers for it.

I understand your frustration as my cousin with his v8 m3 also has no answers to my 135i... but against stock bmws he hasn't lost a robot to robot race yet.. 135. M135. 235 etc..

V8 still a machine

Gentlemen, I have made a completely different decision, instead of going for F80 M3 as I initially intended, I had to put the dream on hold and decided to get something practical for daily use by vrou which happen to be a 2015 520d, she's been on the yaris since 2008, I have come to realise that I have always put myself first as far as cars are concerned, I mean I had two performance cars at the same time in M3 and Golf 6 GTI, what a dream that was.

To cut the story short, I let the M3 go and got a 2015 520d M sport with all the bells one can think of. I must say it was with a heavy heart to let the legend go.

You can guess what I am hunting now, a E46 M3,that way we will both be happy.

Good decision taken there. I always make sure the wife & kid's ride is properly sorted out first.

Very good decision, and to still be able to look for an E46 M3 you're not totally out of the game of toys :bravo:

Good call! Better to have a daily driver and a weekend toy to enjoy as well. New car prices are crazy

It's at Leo Heaese in Centurion PTA, I thought they said they already had a buyer for it but you can call them to find out.

Guess what?

If you are picky on condition and mileage, you are going to fork out as much for an e46 M3:fencelook:

I am definitely picky. I have been browsing the internet, there is a lot advertised the good once are so expensive one could actually consider E92 M3 for the money they asking for,I came across a 2008 E92 M3 with 45 000km for R359 000 which is not far off from what the good E46 M3 are asking for, so it got me thinking hard.

Go for the E46 M3. It's becoming rarer and more collectible. There are car vloggers claiming that within the next 10 years they will be fetching close to US$100k, if not more.

Yeah the E46 M3s are becoming expensive. I wanted one until I realized I am better of leaving it to people that can not only afford to maintain them, but really look after them.

I do hope you find the right one...patience.

Thank you for the advise, There's this blue colour I like on E46 M3 but they are hard to come by.

I am very patient as I need the right one.

Just to close off the thread, here a replacement for the M3. The search for E46 M3 continues.......honestly I am impressed with the performance and consumption, I feel I should have gone for 535 but that could have defeated the purpose of daily and less fuel consumption most importantly hindered my dream to get into E46 M3 sooner.
