Good day,

As the topic states, I am seriously considering trading in my 2009 E90 M3 to 2014 F80 M3, however I would like to what is a reasonable trade in value, it's a 2009 E90 M3 DCT with 62 000km with full agents service history.

Reason I am doing this is to assist me negotiate the trade in with the dealer that will have a car I am interested in buying. Will I even get anything near R325k? that's my balance and settlement will properly be less?

Thanks in advance. One of the few pics I have below.

Not from a dealer.. unless you trading in as in your case.. im sure they'll settle it.. you going to refinance another 600k so they have room to play..

Sweet m3 btw..

Dealer will lowball you, we have all been there. "your car is too old, kms too high, market is dead, not enough extras, too many extras" etc etc.

Go in prepared and with a World series poker face. Also, be sure to ask more than 1 dealer for a trade.

They will probably offer you 100k less on what they intend to sell the car for. It's all about profit no one cares about customers anymore

Sell your 2009 out of hand the dealers will ream you no matter what you are going to spend, they want to make at least R100k out of you!

If your price is fair for the 2009 M3 and you have all the necessary history etc you should not have a problem selling this car they are "epic" :=):

Is it a one owner car?
Full service history?
Any big ticket maintenance items done?

I would gladly pay you R325k if i was in the market for one.

Agreed, you'll get your R325k privately.

You'll never get that on tradein, dealers are shit scared of these NA M3's because of bearing issues and CPA.

I'll engage more than one, I guess this is the time to throw loyalty to one dealer out of the window if they are not prepared to give me a good deal

Yah neh, If they do that I would rather keep her and pay her off, two years left is not bad but I have a Golf that is about 7 years old and paid up but I am afraid of even asking for trade in as what they give me is ridiculously low. I hope I wont be in the boat with the BMW

Not related to the trade price topic

That N/A V8 you have there tickles my fancy more than the F80:tiptoe:

ja the V8 sound is so amazing, surely gonna miss it if I manage to sell it

Sell it privately, you might get more than that.

Wanna try that but I hope I dont fall to the scams, horrible stories of people loosing their cars out there

I am the second owner, does have full service history. Bearing not done yet though.

I will try selling private but I am afraid of scams

I would keep it and pay it up, the best car is a paid up car.

See it through and keep it

That was the plan initially but the F80 is just gorgeous. Offcourse if I dont get a good deal I will keep her and see the end of the contract, good feeling ever.

May be let go of the Golf instead but letting a paid up car go for an installment one is painfull hence I wanted to let BMW go.

keep the v8 and then buy the new one when this one is paid up.if u trade ur just making dealers money, even if u sell private u still lose.

Hey there

You going to get around R230K - R250k for it as a trade in. Maybe negotiate with the dealer where you are purchasing the F80 from? They might be able to get some additional value from the DP.

You are right, firstly they offered R220 and then R250 after negotiations, then offered to load the short fall on the new purchase, not my favorite thing to do, I don't think i will be going ahead with the deal, after all two more years are not bad.

Two more years to go is not bad, however the pain I feel when a 240/140i pulls next to me at the traffic lights is unbearable knowing I dont have answers for it.
