Connected Drive connectivity

Hi all

Hope everyone is well and they rides treating them well it's been a bit since I posted anything after my little review about the Activehybrid.

I am looking for a little more information as there is very little online about the car.

I have the connected drive system but it's not the one with internet functionality ( so very limited ) I have the BMW connected Drive and once it is connected to the vehicle ( via bluetooth) it tells me that " you can now access destination, read your calendar and use third party apps on your in car display" .

I am assuming that it will require some type of special connector I'm just unsure which one and if it's worth it. I am using an android device, if any one knows more an information is appropriated.

Thanks in advance

Maybe use your vin to check if you actually have connected drive.
I never had to buy any special connector.

The 2012 and some 2013 cars cannot connect to the platform. The developer was on the forum and tried to help with this. This is despite it allowing you to use the internet using your smartphone as the gateway. I think people have had luck using units from other vehicles that are registered on the platform. Too much effort to get it right and all that you can really use if you don't have the embedded SIM is the traffic info and internet
