Hi Guys

Hope all is well

I have a hands free kit on my 2008 BMW E90 . I have had it for almost 30months and didnt even think of connecting it my phone.

Okay so it has a mic and a little device on my front centre console
When ever I press that device . It onlys says "Language English" thats all.

I have tried doing this when my phone bluetooth is on , still nothing.
I am expecting the signal network bar to appear on my radio.Nothing !!!!

I also had the bluetooth on and tried pressing the voice button ( person with sound wavw from mouth) on the steering and also the call button , but cant seem to get it right

I tried all that with just the radio on , and also while the car was on

Please can someone point me in the right direction

Thannk you and Regards:thumbs::thumbs:

doesnt sound like a bmw fitted BT. more like a Parrot system or similar.

you will need the manual i am afraid as each one is different.

My car's book told me exactly what to do, you put your phone's bluetooth on, follow the instructions in the book, at one stage you're asked to think out a pin, type it in your phone, and then into the car's radio, and follow instructions again.
My first E90 I was sitting with the book, with the tractor now I just remembered everything from a year back. The phone and the car must pair whahahaha

Gents , I saw my book and it doesnt give me anything on bluetooth like step by step

It just say refer to bmw online to instructions , some thing like that I will check again.

Anyways maybe it isnt a bmw fitted handsfree( I will find out and let you guys know) , but tell me then why does the radio and steering comes with those answer buttons standard if the car didnt have bluetooth as a feature to answer calls

Cheers

Dude,
Sounds like you have a parrot system, and i think these units only allow up to three phones to be paired, after that the unit needs to be "wiped clean" by a parrot agent.
Then only will your phone be able to "see" the parrot Bluetooth system

BTW. the password for these devices is 1 2 3 4

WIll look for the company that did mine, they were dirt cheap, i installed the unit and the guy charged me R100 for the mic and connect everything up

Universal steering wheels.

My car also has the voice and phone buttons on the steering wheel yet my car did not come with a phone. The phone was optional extra.

The previous owner fitted a parrot system in my car which works well, but does not work with the buttons on the steering wheel.

Hi Sabretooth

Try holding the Red and Green buttons on the device remote for 3 - 5 seconds and see if it clears , that's what it says according to my Parrot v5.11c

All bmw with malfunction steering comes with those buttons but it does not mean you have a Bluetooth function in your car as it is an extra to check weather you have fitted with OEM Bluetooth open your trunk and lift up the whole mate so that you can see close to the seat you should see a module for Bluetooth its a silver box mounted with a black bracket if you only see a bunch of cables mean you don't have OEM Bluetooth installed.

That's a aftermarket Bluetooth and it all depends which time unless you post Pictures then it will be easy to help.
