Confusion over year model????

Hi Fanatics. I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm currently looking at buying a 07 320iA M Sport from a delaer in my area. the car is reasonably clean and has a tiny bit of plan left. I took the VIN from the dealership and called BMW to check the history of the car. According to them the car is an 06 model? I asked the salesperson about this and she showed me the NATIS document which reads "Date of first liabilty: 28 February 2007". I called BMW again and she says that the car is definitely a 06 model. I'm seriously confused so I hope someone can shed some light on this.

Manufacturing was 06, but NATIS registers the first 'hard' plate. I've driven with paper plates for more that 2 months while waiting for my personal plates. I even renewed the paper plates once too for another set of paper plates.

Technically you have a 07, but anybody buying the car from you can also just verify by BMW about the discrepancy.

I'd say have the salesman whack R15-20k off the price since it's a 06. Finish and klaar.

Apparently it was used as a BMW demo. So is it possible that it was built in 05/2006 and then only registered in 02/2007?

Yeah its possible, i put our E91 vin on realoem, showed as 09/2006 but we only took delivery and had it registered in april 2007 but then again that was a full import from munich.

My father always takes delivery in January. Jeep got upset with him because they had to store the cherokee for 3 months. Price is determined from the date of registration.

I've got the same problem
My car is registered Jan 2007 but according to bmw it's a 2006

This is because the motorplan was registered in Nov 2006 by the bmw dealership

The issue is
when you want to sell the car. dealers offer you a price based on the motorplan registration of the car. to offer you less.
but when you want to buy the car, the dealer will tell you its e-natis registered model
