Confused! Oil Service Light On - But it says due in 06/2014

Hope all you fanatics are doing well:rollsmile:

I need some help please. So like recently I had my Yellow Car Service Light Pop up upon starting the car .

So I browse through under the service options , and the oil service logo is yellow under the service info , all the other is normal
The problem is that under oil service sign it shows due 06/2014.

I checked my oil level and it is on 50%.
I did an oil service last under motorplan @ 98000km 2012/05 , now it is currently on 109000km

Please assist guys . Your assistance will be highly appreciated

Your oil level showing 50%? I think you referring to the top up oil warning bud. Top up with 0.5lt

Howsit Sanesh - Its not top up sir . It will only show top up when 1 litre is required. when its in in last bar (1 quarter)

In my case Im getting the service logo on startup ( the yellow car with service written @ the top ) and when i browse the oil logo under service info is in that same yellow colour

As i know it depends on how you drive

but yes think so well when i browse my service info My Brake Fluid, Oil and Inspection Service gives me a date under the logo in service info , but my front and back break change gives me Kms

Clearly your car needs oil then, top it up first like sanesh suggested.

I'd suggest taking the car and getting the service done.

My personal preference, if you haven't done the km's needed between services within 12 months, then do the service 12 months after the previous service, even if only half the km's were travelled

I was thinking the same ChefDJ and yes ChefDJ it is a CBS System and not a Scheduled Servicing system :flyfun:

Anyways is there a chance I can changed the CBS setting to show me date and mileage and not only date as mine shows.

Hi Guys the obc shows 27000km and below that the time frame of 06/2014 . So it does show the time and km's

Guys i topped up with only 500ml of Castrol Magnatec Prof A3 - 5W30 , that was in my car before .

I will see the level now. Please advise if 500ml is fine for now

If your oil level is sorted and the oil service indicator is still on, there could be a software fault on the car, as the pre-LCI E90'a have a trendy to store incorrect faults :thumbs:

Could be a faulty sensor for that matter. Rather be safe and have the car checked/serviced :thumbs:

I put in 500ml , but the level is still on the 50 percent mark , which says OK , and the Service light is still on .
Im not sure to put the other 500ml in it ?

But i noticed when Im checking the oil level , that small clock comes there while valuating , but it just goes back to normal viewing(where the total kms get diaplayed ) and when I do it again the clock dont run but then it justs shows 2 bars full (50%) and OK

Maybe yeah , coz i changed my rear single contact light globe , its working now , but the light sign also stills comes on .. How can i reset the light sign.

Try disconnecting the battery for 30mins first, if that doesn't work then you have software issue, I'm 99% sure :thumbs:

Morning Guys

I just figured it out :fishwack: I need a clap hahaha.

Well I noticed my date on the car was wrong , it was 15/08/2014 on the car. So I remember I mistakely changed the date like a week or 2 back , but didnt notice as i was trying to do something else on the obc.:sorry:

So i changed it back to 15/08/2013 and the service light went away :rollsmile:
No more is the service info light is yellow and upon starting its not in yellow and dont pop up. its just the normal Orange reddish car outline light .which is normal
