I very much doubt its gonna be an N54. BMW have always been good about building a new engine for the M3. Not just shoving a 6.2 in every model they make like Mercedes. Not that the 6.2 is bad.
I say in-line 6, 3.2-3.3L triple, twin scroll turbos, 350kw, 50-60kgs lighter than the V8, 0 - 100 in 4.5sec, 8 speed box. Later version will come out with new light weight technology.
Nice to have a 3.3, then it woould be the real 333i, with TTT.

I hope BMW have some balls and make the next M3/M4 a triple turbo, the C63 Coupe is getting a bit too close to the M now, they need something special to annihilate the C63.

Out of curiosity (maybe an engineer can explain) but can more power be extracted from an inline 6 then a v6 or vice versa given they share the same components like pistons, valves, etc etc....
Could this influence BMW to go with I6 & not V6
As nervous as i am about the new ///m3, i trust BMW in thier decisions they make regarding the ///M models.....simply becoz they have NEVER dissapointed us with them!!!
