ConCourt ruling on Nkandla - Your thoughts?

I have a feeling that zoompie is finished this time around.

Yes, the ANC can choose to further ignore the constitution by blocking an impeachment vote, or by not removing him as the ANC president (like they did Mbeki). The only recourse then is to approach the ConCourt again to declare such a decision by the NA to be invalid.

Either way, the ANC has now been shown by the highest court in the country to be morally bankrupt. Unless they throw JZ under the bus, the voters will have to speak at the next elections. If the voters then continue to support such a morally bankrupt party to the extent of allowing them to form another government, well then this country is fukked and I am on the next plane out.

Having said all that, I think the ANC leadership will come to their senses and remove him as ANC prez which opens the way for JZ to resign as the prez of RSA, keeping his lifetime pension in place.

OTOH, I sincerely hope the majority of ANC MP's will grow a pair and support the DA's impeachment motion which will throw JZ out with no more benefits from the taxpayer.

I wonder if Thuli and Moegeng are double checking their windows at night.:=):

There's just way too much at stake for Zooma to go quietly. But that said, there's already speculation that he may step aside as President of the country but will remain president of the cANCer until the next elective conference that they have.

That would constitute a "soft exit" where he can save face, perhaps even gain sympathy as being the "bigger man" while retaining enough political clout to continue lining his (and the cronies) pockets until they completely assured that the clan won't run out of moola for generations.

What SHOULD happen of course is that this poisonous wart faces the full might of the law which would include the 783 charges of fraud and corruption previously withdrawn.

But, as ET said above, "I have a dream......but its only a dream" :=):

The problem with the NA supporting the impeachment process is simply that turkeys don't vote for Christmas... Zoooma is their meal ticket (remembering that the NA is bloated beyond belief) so they all have a vested interest in ensuring that he stays put.

If the cANCer NEC and / or the NA were to act decisively and throw Zooma under the bus, imho it would gain them way more credibility than tip toeing around the municipal election concerns.

As I said in a previous post, I think the cANCer sit on the horns of a dilemma. Whichever way they jump now, there's minimal upside in the long term and to that end, it really couldn't happen to a nicer bunch!!

Even though I expected it, I am still in complete disbelief that once again denial and last resort apologies get you off the hook depending on who you are. For those of you who think anything will change soon, good luck with that.

Perhaps some of you will now understand this thread:

My greatest fear is that there seems to be no accountability at all. Do as you please and if you are caught, deny it or apologise (if you have to) and then carry on as you were. The sort of message this gives to the criminals in this country is devastating for all who call this place home.

I cannot find the words to accurately describe my dismay. Bring on July.

We are not surprised by the opposition calling for an impeachment. We welcome the clarity given on a number of issues. We are not going to play to the gallery, we will not do what will make the opposition happy. - Mantashe

This sums up the arrogance of the ANC.

"We know we're wrong but because the opposition pointed it out, we're going to do the opposite to what is right and rational. "

Bunch of cnuts.
