comparing quotes

Usefull tip: When comparing quotes from different workshops, make sure that you get detailed quotes. It doen't help one quotes on an inspection 1 service (basically oil and oil filter) and the other on an inspection 2 service (oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, petrol filter if applicable). Also make sure that the quote includes VAT (if workshop is VAT registered). This has caused a few people to get a bigger bill than they expected.

Rule # 1: GET A SPECIFIED QUOTE FOR ALL WORK BEING DONE " IN WRITING".

Any additional work needs to be quoted separately.

Yes, absolutely. We've heard some horror stories about customers who got stuck with bills adding up to thousands of Rands, because they weren't quoted properly up-front.

if you own i business you should be able to work out the Ex Vat price yourself :fencelook:

to me it seems the only reason people quote Ex Vat is to try make their quote seem cheaper...
