Comfort to Sport on F30

Hi all

On my 330d, if I switch from Comfort to Sport, will the engine then give maximum output?

Or do I have to go all the way to Sport plus?

How does Sport differ from Sport plus? I do not have the Adaptive suspension fitted.

Stand to be corrected- Sport+ is the same as Sport, but switches the stability control to dynamic control."

If you have sport plus, then you have a sport automatic transmission with shift pedals. On sport plus, ur dsc switches to reduced stability and gearbox will not select the next gear when using the shift pedals, in other words, you will need to shift manually to the next gear using you pedals or gear lever.

Sport plus does not increase power.

No, you dont have to have the sport auto transmission for Sport+. My ex F20 125i did not have the Sport Auto box and had Sport+.

Engine output is the same in Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Quick question, did you have shift pedals on the F20?

according to the chart, engine output increases from comfort to sport, via mapping.

My F30 320i had Sport+ even without the paddle shifts so nope, I dont think you need the sports auto to have Sport+

All that happens when you switch from Sport (stiffens suspension and throttle response - output may also increase) to Sport+ is the DSC goes off and Traction Control comes on.

Although you can then turn the traction control off completely by holding the button down for at least 10 sec IIRC.

Ok, but dyno runs on ex M135 showed same power in comfort and Sport+

Ok cool, thanks for that clarification. All my cars had sport auto and I noticed it also holds gears into the rev limiter when sport plus was activated, provided you are changing gears manually. Interestingly, my wife's new 2series has no pedals and no sport plus, hence my questions about sports plus on cars with sport auto gearbox only.

Is it still standard? Or did you do software? what kind of dyno fugures did you get? Is it a stingy or liberal dyno?

My ex 320i was a 2013, could be that BMW changed things after that?

Its bone stock as I'm still running the car in. It pulled 247.1hp and 372nm of torque. This was at HM Auto, the dyno was a bit stingy according to other guys who ran at KAR and FR & R but I'm quite happy with my figures.
Before I start tuning will run another dyno as stock.
