I know that this is not a new subject but wonder if some users could assist me.
Im am busy with a bluetooth retrofit on a E92. I have scanned the forums and the net and although there is lots of info on this subject some things are still unclear.
Here or my concerns;
Firstly Bmw claims that this mod can only be done in their workshop and with a new mulf as the vin must be programmed into the new unit.This i knw is not true as i have seen the unit
been replaced with a unit from a scrap yard and this was plug and play.
However with a new installation coding is required.
I have done the installation of the mulf, the most connector change,antena and the mic.
My E92 has the bluetooth preparation.( SA 640 )
From the forums i have noticed two trends,
1) coding changes in certain modules
2) changing the VO by adding $644
On this forum there is a procedure of how to do this retro fit but it is for a E90 without Idrive thus the process it quite different.
I have read that changing the VO could cause the everything to crash.
What i want to do is to start with the changing of the VO. But i have read this documentation and it is not quite clear.
From the pdf file changing VO they proceed by changing CAS but then state; that only the CAS has the new VO,the 2nd control unit that stores the VO must now be coded with the new
VO, select F1 Change ECU and repeat. What 2nd control unit must be changed?
I really hope that there is someone out there that can help with the coding.
In Cape Town there is a company that does a lot of work on the BMW electronics but dont want to do this coding. I dont know if its lack of expertize or they dont approve of it.
There is a pdf from BMW showing how the retrofit is done. All connections and installation is shown for a E90 with preparation and professional nav.
The coding is to be done with SSS via the CIP path.
I have access to ncs and inpapa.Here too i am not sure if the programs or up to date. I have E89_v41 daten files.
My E92 is a 335i 2009 built 10/2008
for those with E92 and have not been able to find the most connector;
