RAArmstrong said:Should be fine bru, my dad's old Camry had a shudder in the clutch for quite a while before he got around to having it sorted...
Ralf@Speedway Motorsport said:Clutch shudder could be
1)Crankshaft seal leaking oil, onto the clutch, normally you can smell a light hint of burnt oil
2)Clutch thrust bearing on its way out, normally this is accompanied with a screetching sound when the clutch is depressed
3)Uneven thickness of flywheel face, similar to brake disk "warped", normally resolved by having flywheel skimmed.
4)Clutch plates getting close to wear limits
5)Also check the fluid level of the clutch master cylinder, low fluid levels could also cause the clutch to not disengage properly.
apart from points 2 and 4, it should be safe to go for a while, if 2)Thrust bearing, then it could go at any moment, 4) if worn to limits, will still work, but the metal rivets holding the clutch material toegether could start to come in contact (metal on metal) with the flywheel...and gear changes might become more "crunchy"
thats from my experiences

No smell of oil, clutch releaser seems fine, no screeching noise, I think its just clutch plate almost gone, but will do all when I change it,
The clutch padle does get a bit softer when it shudders but comes right once in second,

PS...we have recently employed a "jack-of-all-trades" mechanic, who is now doing clutch changes etc for us as well, already done 2 this month.
So we are branching out into "light" vehicle repairs, clutch changes, and minor services/filters etc
Nikhil said:no issues dude it will hold up:thumbs: a few tips tho, when in traffic or at a robot keep you car in neutral and use the handbrake or foot brake as this will take some strain of the clutch. don't do any racing either  from past experience with shudder its normally the pressure plate that wears before the clutch hence causing the shudder and soft pedal every now and then. clutch symptom's are normally when the clutch "rides" after the pedal was released

Thx for the qoute. That is a bit steep. I got a qoute for R2500 for the kit
But managed to get better. Labour free. Lol. My wifes auncle is a mechanic in midrand said I can bring the car to him.
