Clutch plate gone?

My little '06 320i started with trouble this evening. I can select a gear happily, but as I rev, I get very little power, and the car vibrates.

The AA guy suggested the clutch plate. Anyone have an idea of what this is going to set me back?

I still have a warranty ( not a motor plan ) until the end of the month, might that help me at all? Or is this considered wear and tear?

Eugh, I can't afford this right now!

PS; It's an e46mobile

depends on who your warranty is with as to whether they will cover it (and if they do probably only part of the cost).
depending on whether BMW diagnose normal wear and tear or "client abuse" would determine whether you would be covered or not.

does the car pull off ok and the revs climb without roadspeed climbing , more noticeable in higher gears ? If clutch plate or pressure plate wears then guarantee may not cover this . May be seals in slave/master cylinder as well .

from autozone flywheel is about 3k and the clutch kit is about 2k so just find out how much the labour will be...

I am booking it in with Tune Tech today, hopefully they'll have good news for me..

They said that they usually would just refurbish it rather than replace it - Something that I'm sure a stealer would have insisted on.

*fingers crossed*
