Clutch going?

hey guys,how do i know if my clutch is busy going?my car sometimes shudders when pulling away and only when the car has been driven hot.The Clutch release point is much higher than it was.The clutch IS NOT SLIPPING AT ALL.Is this my clutch and how long do i have till it really starts going out?

i have the same problem, clutch not slipping at all. from what i found out, its actually the pressure plate. However it cannot be bought seperately and you have to buy a full clutch kit.
iv learnt to live with the slight shudder for now, but soon will replace it.

well i went to my mechanic and he told me, if u can live wit it shuddering a bit then dont waste your money. he said once it starts slipping, thats the time you should change. but he didnt giv me an indication of how long it will actually last. so if any1 else has a bit more knowledge, please enlighten us.

i have an issue with my clutch.. an it only happens when it gets hot. i cant engage in any gears..

could it be the fly wheel?

sounds more like your gearbox mrv.

SirSparky, .. maybe its glazed abit or just worn.. if it doesn't irritate you too much leave it. I have a EVER so slight shudder, but I have a custom flywheel with M5 clutch, I really abuse my car tho.. its hardly noticeable right now, but I'm sure its gonna get worse.

MRV... its possible that it is your slave cylinder on the clutch as well. I had it with my 540 until I rebuilt it.

@clutchy...how long do i still have to drive the car till it fails.the shudder doesnt bother me but iam just scared when i go on holiday dec that the car is gonna drop me in da kak.

eish, its really hard to say, only way to know is to take gearbox off and look at it, it could last REALLY REALLY REALLY long tho if you drive it properly, if you drive it hard .. it Will wear out ..
