Clutch fan for E39 530d needed

So my clutch fan (viscous fan) is not functioning any more and need to buy a new Behr unit. Agents wants R2500 and i can get it from Auto Cooling Solutions in Brackenfell for R900 plus VAT. Any one know of a place where i can get it cheaper??

If it's the genuine behr part, then it's not to bad. You could import, but that will take a while to get here unless you fork out extra for courier.

I'd say go local and pay the R900. That way if something isn't right with the part you can easily take it back.

OK, so i bought the clutch fan for my 530d (got a slight discount) but when i tried to fit it, the fan touched the pulleys. On examining the visco i saw that the nut that goes onto the waterpump is shorter than the original, which has quite a long shaft. Phoned the lady at Auto Cooling Solutions and told her my problem. She then got me the right visco, but her suppliers charged her about 50% more for the same visco but with the extended nut. Got that yesterday and now the fan is not catching anywhere. Must say that the lady owner went out of her way to pick up the stuff from my sons house that i sent back on Sunday and she also went to a lot of trouble getting me the right visco. :thumbs:
