Clutch and DMF questions

TIP: the longer you drive it with the slippage, the more damage you are doing to the DMF.

Thanks for that. I'll be doing some serious shopping around this weekend.
If push comes to shove then I suppose there's no choice but to replace.

Have any of you converted to a single mass flywheel?
I'm sure I saw a thread about this somewhere. Just curious about the lifespan of such a conversion

I think I might just do away with the self adjusting & dmf if they need replacing :fencelook:

Unless someone can advise against it ??

Man, That trainstation smell is the smell of slippage
.
I'd say, pull the gearbox and check it all out before spending on a DMF. We have now already established that you need a clutch kit so the box will have to come out. Your flywheel may not be in bad way. Im sure what you are experiencing is mainly due the clutch disc slipping. Also, As far as I know(very little), engineering places will not surface a DMF.

If you really need to change the flywheel, maybe consider the single mass option with E30 M20 parts?

Youll need a m20 flywheel( needs machining on the engine side) and the e30 starter motor...just an idea:rollsmile:

Been calling around goldwagen has a Sachs clutch kit with LuK flywheel for ~6k. I reckon I'll buy everything and when the box foes come check everything. If the flywheel is fine just take the dmf back. Thanks a lot for all the responses gents. There's always a shit load of info on this forum.

Little weary of the m20 conversion....i don't smaak to f#@k s#!t up lol. Have a great weekend gents. Much love

Daniel, I’m just throwing it in there but while you have the box out you may as well do the shifter bushes if they have not been done yet:=):

What are the exact bushes I'm looking at? I have no idea how my shifter works....to me it's all magic
