Shame, that's a long time to be away from her, and of course the M5! Ctek charger to keep the batteries in good order, but ultimately best if they can get driven every now and again...

Have a safe trip!!

While I was fitting it my wife came down to the man cave and did the Windhoek lager ad. "Steve, don't attach useless accessories to your car. Keep it real" With the look:biglol: I couldn't help but feel a bit sheepish. Even if it is original.

No pictures yet... unless Philip F got one at the car show.

LOL, that's classic!!!

Actually still have those photos but never got around to uploading them...

All on chargers... missus rolles them backwards and forwards every now and again... tyre flat spots take a while to work out.

Neighbourhood will be pleased the M5 will be dormant for a while...

Feel free to post a pic:ty:

I ma sure, red M5 that shoots fire from the exhaust pipes!

The whole car has changed character. The OEM style pin stripes I got months ago but did not want to fit are now a no brainer.

Those rims look very, very nice on the car, does completely change the character doesn't it? Makes it look very aggressive indeed. Think maybe I should consider a set of black ones.....wonder how they would look against the Alpine white?

Sound should be starting today. Going for complete stealth. The 6x9s are going in under the stock rear parcel shelf speaker pods (from Nicks car). The sub and the amp are going in under the rear seats and the tweeters are going in behind the front air vents (two cosmetic ones on top of the dash).

How are they doing the rear pods and who is doing it?

Very interested as sound is my next mission...

Rear pods, they are making a wood frame for 6x8 (sorry I got that wrong) and fitting so they are flush without hacking the parcel self. The speaker pods from Nicks car will then go over them. Automobile Concierge (they who's name must not be mentioned) :biglol: are doing it along with the other stuff.

Some more pictures, on its way to do the suspension stuff and fit the last wheel.

Miss my baby...

You can really see how the mags change the car in these pics!!

Unfortunately the wheel change has not gotten rid of the vibration at 60km/h. The old wheels were a bit bent and I was hoping they were the cause. With the new tie rod ends and other goodies i was hoping that it would be sorted out. Alas it may be propshaft or brakes. And is referred to by Big Coupe owners as the dreaded vibration.

I saw your car in real life when I was in Cape Town and the colour is awesome! Must admit, thought you were mad to change the black seats with cream ones....but, wow.....how good that has turned out! All the best with this dream machine :inlove:

The car is looking very nice, the black centres on the wheels do give it a mean look.

The two tone inside the cabin also looks surprisingly good.

I LIKE IT:thumbs:

So car made it into Helderberg Autotech in Somerset West. Recommended by Nic_s IIRC and it seems it was a good tip. My warm start issue was a quick diagnosis and all the other stuff was picked up and so far it seems like its going good.

Good stuff! The dreaded vibration been attended yet?

Diagnosed as propshaft. So they are sending that for highspeed balancing. I am not convinced but all the usual suspects (bushings) have been replaced and the brakes I redid myself, new wheels, that leaves prop-shaft or power steering preload.

She is dying for a suspension drop.

If you saw my driveway you wouldn't say that. As it is the 6 either scrapes the front wing or the rear tow hook or lifts a wheel. So you have to gun it up!! Limited slip diff will help:roflol:

Your LSD is waiting for you....
I think you should spray the wheel centres silver as you will see a lot more wheel detail, these are the correct period wheels but having black centres you lose all the fine detail these wheels have. If the car were black then it would flow well with the rest of the car but the car aint black and the black wheels don't flow well with the rest of the car. This is an old school car and the wheels should be an old school colour ie silver which is period correct. Black wheels is a new school thing and you shouldn't mix the two, it just isn't right. Just my 2cents.

For the suspension issue, fit an air ride kit. Low for when you cruising and raise it when you pull into the driveway. This car is a gentleman's cruiser so no need for bone shaking racing suspension.

Gizmo. I have'nt even seen it in person yet. The OEM stripes are going on and I am hoping that they set off the black centred rims. Work in progress, but liking it so far.
