The badge looks nice, i've got the black backed badge on mine (the badge attaches to the spoiler on my car though)

Starting problems?

My car also randomly gave me starting problems a couple of months ago, but mine turned out to be the starter itself..

Hope you get yours sorted

Looking good mate!!

I've got the crappy black backed badge, removing it until I get one like yours.

What was the result of your starting problem last year? Mine is randomly refusing to start after sitting for a week.

Technically it should have the black backed badge, but I like the chrome one. I even had a guy refuse to see me the chrome one he had because I told him it was going on an 84 model!!

Random no start turned out to be the computer box... the whole repair is shrouded in mystery though... but she goes like a dream now. A bit lumpy at idle though.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of on mine. New pre-pump going in next, so we'll see... Strange thing is she starts on first click 95% of the time.

Whats happening the other 5% of the time?

And does it start 95% of the time when the engine is at normal operating tempreture, or does it start perfectly when cold, but not when hot?

I had a general issue where I had to crank for ages before I got it to start. New fuel pump and filter fixed that.

Now it will ocassionaly not start at all after sitting for a day or 7. It will crank but that's it. IT happens so seldomly that I haven't done much fkn with it. Even if I bridge the fuel relay I get nothing, no bzzzzz at the back.

I have new fuel and main relays. I'm thinking either ECU now, or pls pls pls the new pre-pump will do it, I'm thinking it primes the main pump. The old pre-pump didn't work at all.

Failing that, we start swapping parts.....

Sorry for the highjack Clown!!

I am of two minds as to permanently fix it or maybe rather remove the studs and just glue it on... silicon type adhesive that I could remove. I will make up my mind when it arrives.

Also ordered these:

Croatia I suspect. Guy is on the bigcoupe forum. Looks in very good condition. All inquiries into the various SA parts cars did not even receive an answer!!

So after Carbon130 and Philips adventure getting the 635 to the carshow, I fitted a new battery and the central locking now works. The ignition is still intermittent:( I suspect a bad contact at the key.

I fitted the spoiler temporarily using silicone to see if I like it. I do:)

While I was fitting it my wife came down to the man cave and did the Windhoek lager ad. "Steve, don't attach useless accessories to your car. Keep it real" With the look:biglol: I couldn't help but feel a bit sheepish. Even if it is original.

No pictures yet... unless Philip F got one at the car show.

So the speedo gears are still uninstalled and the wheels still unpainted.

so here is the latest. Been neglecting her recently but decided I don't have the time and farmed our some work... mainly due to Nicks bad luck and cancellation of the build. So cream interior is in... wheels almost on, Aline scorpions18inch. All done by them that may not be mentioned. Black centres and polished lip but, it was discovered that the one control arm is bent... so the one side wheel does not fit. So having all that sorted now. I am sitting at he airport now, so I will not see the car until I am back in Oct!

Shame, that's a long time to be away from her, and of course the M5! Ctek charger to keep the batteries in good order, but ultimately best if they can get driven every now and again...

Have a safe trip!!

All on chargers... missus rolles them backwards and forwards every now and again... tyre flat spots take a while to work out.

Neighbourhood will be pleased the M5 will be dormant for a while...

:joy:

The black centres on the wheels really set it off. I had set my heart on silver centers but this is better than I could have imagined. Two tone interior is also something that I would not have done myself but really "modernizes" the feel of the interior. Of course chrome bits in the engine bay are always welcome:rollsmile:

That two tone does look nice,I have to admit, and those rims look better than I would have expected! I guess Nick's loss is your gain! What you going to do with the original rims?
I am thinking of doing the car show next year with you guys,my 635 is nearly ready to hit the road.
