I will never give up About to take her out the garage and go for a drive. I need to use up the tanl of gas to see if it is teh fuel pump or not. Excellent excuse

So the tinkering continued. Too much work preparing for presenting at a conference in Toronto meant that I did not get my arse in gear to organise anything while I was there. So missed out on a new 635csi badge and original toolkit.

But after a week of a frustratingly non-running vehicle I was about to relent and send the car into a specialist... when I re-read some old stuff I noticed I had jumpered the fuel relay incorrectly when I tested it some weeks previously. So I went down to where the car was parked after it had cut out about an hour earlier and I bridged the fuel relay... and I heard the happy buzz of high pressure fuel in the rail. Went to crank it and so went immediately So I put the relay back in expecting a dead car again... no she still runs fine. So I drove down to midas replaced teh relay and went for a long drive to stellenbosch with teh missus... and no issues.

She lives!!!!

Just keeping the thread alive. Not much happening as the little blighter arrives 3.54kg of nappy crapping, formular swilling, heart breaking baby boy is taking up alot of time.

But a power steering hose burst on my driveway... alot of blood spilled on the driveway but relatively easy to fix. Replaced the heat damaged section at hose and fitting place and refitted so it is further from the exhaust manifold this time.

Otherwise loving it... only real annoyance is teh door card being loose.

Leaking radiator hose...

Shouldn't be to difficult to replace.

Which hose? I'm led to believe bleeding the system could be tricky sometimes. Done a bit of reading on BigCoupe builds up an air lock sometimes. Also it takes 12l of coolant so a 50/50 mix with BMW antifreeze is round about R400 bucks worth of antifreeze.

I'm going to do my thermostat soon so i did some homework.

Hows the little one hope he sleeps alright, I've got twin boys and both had collic was not fun at all. Hope you're lucky and he doesn't have.

Top hose, where it connects to the temp sensor housings. As a result I should have to drain the whole system. But the previous owner just had water in... so draining and adding a proper fix is a good idea.

I haven't even started looking at how to do the fluid transfer yet.

Baby is reasonably behaved. And only had a few prolonged colic events. Usually at 3am, as it happens...:yuck:

She is back

I droped her offat Zeemax in April sometime. After some backwards and forwardsing and some issues Zeemax finally got thier act together and turns out it was a faulty ECM that when fixed thecar ran perfect so while I am not happy with the service I got initially it does seem that they are turning things around.

but I am so happy sheis back. the drive back was wonderful, it is difficult to describe the feeling of having that smooth six with the long bonnet and the solid planted drivefeel:joy: Waiting forthetraffic to die down and then going for a quick spin.

So nowI can get on with fixing up everything.:joy: Mags and tyres first... mismatched tyres and a slight wobble in one ofthe mags are making it pull abit and a slight vibration from the damaged mag. And the cheap bonnet badge fell appart so I need an new one.

So still to go are:
Mag rejuvenated. I will go for as sparkly a silver as possible. One is slightly oval and hopefully the cause of the vibration at 75-80km/h.
The climate control levers seem to be disconnected.
The dash lights are all off (exept for the dials)
window winders need to be serviced. They work, but slow due to old grease.
Window tint is peeling at the corners so needs removal
New steering wheel. Anyone know of a Msport item that will fit?
Cruise control not working.
Blue door cards need to be black as well as center console... plasti-dip to the rescue (hopefully)
Hood badge and 635csi badge.

Trying to decide if I need a spoiler... (opinions please)
