Regarding my gearbox

I tried to out accelerate a fool in a Jeep that was sitting on my backside with brights on. I was in "drive" and simply put my foot down. The car shifted from third back into second, and then it had trouble shifting back into third once I was away from the Jeep.

Made a sort of grinding vibration...

Sounds like the box is starting to slip :bangdesk:

It only does it on hard acceleration from second to third.

Not in manual mode.
Not on slow acceleration or with normal driving.
Not in any other gear.

Could you describe a bit more? What does this issue involve, and what type of repair process needs to be followed?

I have been wanting to do this forever. However, I don't know who to take it to for that. That is one process that CANNOT be stuffed up done cheaply. I want somebody who knows their stuff.
