Sounds like a faulty ground wire playing havoc with the electronics.

You should check if there are any voltage irregularities

To me it looks like a faulty ground too. They'll be able to pick it up

Just replace the LED with the original globe and check. I replaced my parks with the LED and they were canbus so there were no errors but after a while they started flashing when the lights were off. You can get error cancelers off EBay which apparently prevent the hyper flashing caused by LED's.

Wow usually Bruce has about everything!

My last resort to you, There's a place in Vanderbijlpark where I live, not sure if its too far for you though : Head Ray Radiators - 016 933 0783

I just phoned them, seems like they do have stock, but just double check that its the right one!

He stated that he has original parts for R850-00.:dunno:

Hope this helps!

I have a 2003 E39 with 235k km on the clock. Had the cats gutted and removed and rewelded at Supaquick here in Hermanus. Guy quoted me R350 and that is what i paid. Did an excellent job. Car not at all louder, although performance wise it feels much the same as before. Cats were not clogged at all but super clean. Not a big job. Removed the belly pan cover, the anti roll bar and removed the nuts from the turbo and the bolts connecting the front section to the rest of the exhaust. Cut open the cats, knocked them out and rewelded and refit. Took maybe 2 hours from start to finish. The mecchie warned me that it was going to be loud but cannot hear any difference from before when cats were still in the exhaust. I say, go for it. Also remove the swirl flaps as SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! Clean EGR and disconnect as well. (Read my post about the new turbo i had fitted because old one made a slight noise due to small piece broken off exhaust vane)

It's not your wiring... and it had to have been doing it before the sub install ever since you installed the LED's

This is the "cold" bulb sensing feature of the LCM .... Google BMW LCM hot/cold sensing.

The only way to get rid of it is to turn off the cold sensing by coding or as mentioned put the original bulbs back

Sounds similar to the aftermarket tail lights I had on my E90, when i turned the ignition on both sides would flash a couple of times. Then each side would take a turn. Apparently it was a cold bulb test... ?

You guys are right. I took out the LED's and put back the originals. No discos lights. The reason I took them out was because the one angel halo had stopped working completely. I opened the bonnet and found that one of the wires had come out. Can't get it back in, so... Originals can stay fore a while.

Re the coding, can this be done via a normal diagnostics computer?

Wish I was in Hermanus right now... lol

The cheapest quote I got was R1 200.00

Every guy I go to says it's expensive because there are 2 and they're behind the steering rack. I'd pay, but I'm also not sure of the quality of work these guys perform. The only one I really trust refuses to do it cos "it's supposed to be there"
