Hoping for the best bud! I tried to check my lift pump pressure on my little OBD dongle and the apps I have on my phone but couldn't see what it was. The rail pressure is around 340Bar on idle, and goes up past 1500bar easily when driving.

Apparently the rail pressure clears 3500bar when accelerating. You don't dare put your fingers near the thing even on idle if something has come off from the rail. That stream will cut your finger off.

I found this:

M57 uses first generation Bosch CR system. Max pressure 1350bar, CP1 high pressure pump.
M57N uses second generation system from Bosch. Max pressure 1600bar, Cp3 high pressure pump.

I saw the rail pressure on my car in the 1500's bar. I still think your lift pump is wonky.

Low pressure pump passenger side?

I think you have two pumps in the tank, one to balance the left and right, and one to feed the hpfp on the motor?

No, there are three pumps as follows:

One in the tank
One near the passenger footwell - low pressure
One on the engine - high pressure

No idea. Searching the web for more info.

jack up car on front passenger side
remove under floor plastic covers from the wheel arch rearwards
you will find the pump located under the floor (external) covered by the plastic covers.

Mine sprung a leak many moons ago, on one of the pipes, so I know exactly where it sits

Sounds easy enough.

Will remove it and send for testing.

The issue was the high pressure fuel pump :tease:

but u replaced it and it didnt make a different?
was the replacement unit also faulty?

Yup.

Now I have my original back in after a recon... Going like a dream.
