Ralf, apparently the specialist needed to work on my exhaust didn't pitch up for work and so they will give me a ring this morning to let me know what's happening.

All I can say it doesnt sound like a diesel anymore, souns like a petrol 6cyl now. Could hear you all the way, although you were driving normal.

Any drone sound on the highway?

Tips looks tops :praise:

What you want is 76 mm downpipe running all the way to the rear :D

Right, as explained before the vacuum cannister near the turbo melted from heat caused by the turbo. No friction at all. No contact with the turbo. Just plain heat.

Anyways, this made me decide to do the downpipe ASAP to get rid of the cats. The E39 530d has two massive cats plus two flex pipes. I had a 63mm downpipe fitted (btw no cat sensors present) and they fitted a new flex pipe for me. Also, I wanted a new tip fitted but the back box made it a bit complicated. And so I had them remove it (at the suggestion of someone who knows what he's doing) and they fitted a 76mm straight pipe to the new tip.

The resulting look:

I love it :fencelook:
