Okay, so I had two questions but you answered one already.

Q1 = Why the blue stickers
Helps for stone chips

Q2 = What was your average fuel consumption, your car being a diesel and auto ?

The blue stickers are also used for creative designs, as you can see on some of the cars. But was originally used to protect the bonnet and front bumper from stone chips as you are following many cars and because it's a convoy, the following distance may be smaller than a normal drive down...

The computer averaged 7.1L/100km most of the time but calculations and km's covered showed otherwise. Probably because I never reset the computer after fill up. I only reset the odometer reading.

All in all, usage showed that I could get 1050km for the tank, which is 70 litres, but the speeds were not constant. I could probably get better on a longer run.

The blue painters tape is amazing on long trips, prevents stone chips like a boss. I use it on all long trips. Takes some time to apply, i wish they came in a thicker width.

In this case, while its main purpose is stone chips as each car is in convoy and close to each other. It is also used to mark the car as part of the convoy. Some guys go all out and creative with designs, some use it purposely.

Chef, this was your first Dubrun? How was it?

I had most fun on the few i went on. I believe this years Dubrun Pack was great and the run was fun with a stop over at Hesketh Track?

Thanks for the pics. Your car looks great.

Car looks awesome though.
And why not cover the bumper as well if it's for stone chips?

Thanks guys for all the compliments. Really appreciated. I'd love some rolling shots of the car without the tape, though. But never have someone to take them for me.

This was my first Dubrun, yeah. Was really fun. The MAS Performance family, myself included, all had two-way radios in the car so the contact was good and we had some good laughs.

A couple of guys had some damage to their cars after hitting one of those solid rubber weights used to keep those temporary road markers up. :thumbdo:

The pack was really nice. Included octane booster (which I can't use), inflatable beach ball, carpet freshener and air fresheners, energy drinks, t-shirts, and so much other stuff that I haven't even had a chance to go through yet.

A lot of the guys stopped at Hesketh, but our little convoy carried on straight to Umshlanga, along with a few others. That track has been abandoned for years and so there's debris and stones all over the place. Didn't want to risk anything.

I wanted to cover the bumper, but it was getting late at the tape-up evening the night before the convoy and so we didn't have time. That bumper is very detailed so it would have taken a while.
