LOL - this was a DIY I did before becoming a Promotec agent, so not really a service that Promotec offers.

If you're really stuck and can't get it done elsewhere at a reasonable price, let me know - happy to help out, time permitting, of course.

Hi guys

I decided to take my car out to KAR today and let them do a dyno on it. Was a bit nervous while waiting for the results, as I didn't know what to expect. Was pretty sure that this old bird had lost quite a bit of it's power over the years, hence my wanting to do software...

Stock standard, this car is supposed to make 410Nm on the flywheel, but I dunno how much on the wheels. Obviously less, correct?

WRONG! Dyno showed 430Nm on the wheels!!! I was speechless!

The only thing I can think of is that this car has software on it without me knowing, whether I want it or not!

When I bought it, it had a Tune Tech sticker plonked right under the right tail-light, which I removed hastily because it looked shite...

Steps to be taken to confirm if it has software? Should I phone them, confront them?

Also, currently sitting on 123.3kw or 167.5Hp... Hmmmm........

Sangoma software??? :fencelook:

Good and bad news.

Good.... You appear to have scored a bonus without knowing

Bad... You no longer have software options available to up the power :biglol:

To be honest I don't think you running software. Power would be up to about the 140wkw mark if you were, possibly even higher. I reckon the diesel is just torquing the way it would be.
My car is claimed to have 400nm on the flywheel and at KAR it showed 429nm othe wheels. Software is stil an option, go to Promotec and they'll show you what figures you can rt from that beast!

What did you except? Is your car supposed to be the 142kw 410nm?

The 530d comes from the factory with tons of overboost for short durations of time. Apart from that, it is very difficult to get an accurate torque measurement with a torque converter in the loop (unless you were testing in 4/5th and know that the TCC is still operating correctly in 4/5th). I also don't think your car is mapped. Perhaps post the graph?

In good old SA, we never got a 142kW version, only 135kW, despite what car magazine might have said at the time.
