Hello!

So I found a replacement for my F30! (It will be missed)
Picked it up last week. I present to you all: "The White Wolf"

Specs are:
2016 model with extended warranty/plan
2.0 TFSI Automatic
Digital instrument cluster, navigation, bluetooth, etc
18" rims
LED matrix headlights/taillights (with that dope strobe effect)

BMW's are still in my family blood, and I will continue to love them. I jumped ship due to the really good deal I got on the car.

Comparing the BMW F30 320i to the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI:
> I miss rear-wheel drive in the BMW
> I felt more in control of the steering at speeds in the BMW
> Audi's interior is superior in every possible way
> Far more comfortable ride in the Audi (albeit these are 18" non-runflats compared to my previous 19" runflats)
> Waaaayyyyy less head-turning when I drive past now. Definitely lacks the sporty "wow-factor"
> Consumption is only slightly better so far (9.3L/100km in the audi; 10.1L/100km in the BMW.. mixed traffic and highway driving)
> The Audi is faster than my 320i F30 stock. About the same when I had the JB4 (feels like it anyway)

Congrats.
The car is well specced.
It has more torque than the 320i and you can feel it.
Your fuel consumption is a bit higher, given that this is meant to be the detuned 2.0 "efficiency" TFSI motor.
Are you driving the car in Sport mode a lot?

I havent fully played around with every mode yet. It's a bit confusing.. There's efficiency, comfort, auto, dynamic and individual modes... then there's sports mode on-top of that.
But yeah, I've got that new car syndrome.. foots a bit heavier than it should be :tiptoe:

Congrats bro! She's a beaut! Perfect color! Wheels look epic! That dash display :blowheart:

My SO has a 2014 A4 TFSI and it pulls super strong too. Was quite impressed. Torque steer is mental though. I hear you on the interiors of the Audi's, for me just too much going on and personally prefer the simplistic BMW interiors. One thing I really wish Audi would do is make thicker steering wheels...

I was considering one of these (either a 2.0 TFSI or TDI) before the 320d.
The cars are really well built and feel super solid.
But, that is the main gripe I have with Audi (having owned a few), in that it isolates you a bit from the action. Besides my TT 8J (felt every bump), both my A3 sedan and A4 B8 were very insulated. Which is not a bad thing after a stressful day at work.

As a side note, I noticed that the latest TT (not the TTS or TT RS though) also feels a bit insulated - more a cruiser than a bruiser.

All in all, I would still rate your B9 2.0TFSI as being superior to the F30 320i in most aspects.

If I may ask, how much did this the B9 cost you?

Congrats. Nice comparison. The Audi seems more sensible but the BMW is the one that will put a smile on your face.

Nice one man, a real solid car. My dad has the 2.0TDI (140kw/400nm with the 7 speed dual clutch set up), also in white, but definitely not as well specced as yours - That digital cluster is magic! He moved over from a F30 320i, as well.

Having driven his car very often, the interior is a special place to be and the build quality is miles ahead of BMW. Car also drives and rides exceptionally well, especially over poor surfaces. The STronic box is also so much of fun, with the paddles.. Using the paddles to break speed is such a cool feeling, the mechanical feel of the box downshifting is fun. The consumption is pretty decent (avg is 6.5l/100km, long distance is around 4.5l/100km), given the 'swift' nature of the car, that turbo diesel coupled with the box really makes the car fly.

One of my gripes is the light steering wheel, which is why I always tend to put the car into Dynamic mode to tighten up the steering. Another one being the fact that the car is FWD, I just don't feel the same level of confidence you get from RWD.

Many happy miles with your Ingolstadt wheels

Nice to see more vorsprungs on the forum.

Full garage with a Benz on one side and BMW on the other.

Why no sunroof though? you have all the other options ticked.

I feel you, it can be distracting at first. Once you're used to it its pretty intuitive (although iDrive is better laid out than Audi's MMI).

Definitely. More relaxing, less involved in the drive than BMW. But when I want it to go, it still has the oomph I need. Drop me a PM if you want to know what I paid, etc,

Haha, German forever.

Sunroof is one of my least needed specs (never use it), and in the price-range/available cars, the only ones I could find with a sunroof were lacking the other kit I wanted - most noticeably the matrix LED headlights. I would have loved the S-line kit, but had the same issue as I mentioned above.. S-line's with no other kit were everywhere :eek:mgwaiting: I decided it wasnt a big deal though, unlike M-sport vs normal F30's, S-line doesnt really look too different.

I agree with you on the sunroof. I have maybe used mine twice in more than 4 years. I do not see the point thereof tbh. A proper sound system and headlights are far higher up on my list of requirements.

Just a tip on the steering aspects. There’s a user-defined setting (individual mode?) where you can set the steering feel to dynamic but engine/gearbox to comfort - that would probably be best if you’re not driving the car hard :)

Congrats on the new car! I miss my Audis :(
