Hi,

Has anybody looked at the e46 M3 for sale in JHB for R99k?

Looks a little rough (to be expected for that price) especially the front clip.

With those cheap aftermarket headlights on, can you imagine what was used for maintenance on the rest of the vehicle?

That's only worth it as a donor car for somebody to do an E46 M3 touring or M3 sedan.

And even then for probably 20-30% less than it's listed cost...

Nah... that looks like it'll end up being the most expensive e46 M3 one could buy
:fencelook:

:withStu: Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think ill go take look anyways - Im not intimidated by some elbow grease and a bit of bodywork.

The best thing about cheapys is that you can clean them up, make them look 8/10 and drive them the way they were meant to be driven without feeling guilty

I had a mate who bought a "garage queen" e46 M3 and turned out to be the worst, most unreliable and costly car he ever owned.

Bodywork will be the least of the problems. I rate its under the bonnet that's gonna cost majour coin.

Let us know how it looks!

Sometimes you're lucky - if it sounds ok then I think Ill make an offer of R75k and see what happens - worst case it can be parted out to keep other E46 M3's on the road

It’s going to be quite a bit of work. Those seats look pretty bad for a car supposedly with 97000km.

It has a front loader and not a oem radio which you would want to change I’m assuming.

The body work will be quite significant. The drivers pillar upholstery is coming apart. Rubbers around the door are also in bad shape. I don’t think those rims are oem. Replacing those lights is a must. That bumper, bonnet, fenders to name a few all look quite suspect.

We don’t yet know what’s happening with the engine and subframe status. The bearings as well.

You may be better off buying a 150-170k M3 and use that as a platform. Let us know what you find upon viewing I’m interested to know

Ill check it out and post back - if for no reason other that to see how bad it could be :)

She might just surprise all of us and have a rock solid engine and box.
Either way, keep us posted as to what u find:thumbs:

I dont mind stopping and checking it out.
i have driven pass it a couple of times, and def front smash.

Their other branch in Kempton has a silver one with a black bonnet, i think for R150 000, looks in better condition.
