Changing Seats Center console

Ok Here is a question.I drive long distance as a rep and just got a 318 tourer E46 2005. Would like to know if and how easy it is to change center console/ seat with armrest. It is A/T. Also limited budget. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Also there are no cupholders for my wimpy coffee and dont want to put in the tacky ones you buy at Game. (had to do this for now as cant drive with out my wimpy or 500ml coke/water)

Dont know about the rest, but the cupholder is easy. By the handbrake is a compartment ( either open or comes with a retractable lid). This can just clip out, and you buy the twin cupholder unit from bmw and it just clips into place.

IF budget is limited, your easiest is going to be to go scrapyard diving and find a car that has one in in the same leather as your car, and just buy the front seat with the arm rest, and that will cost you about 1k per seat, 500 to 800 if you can haggle

That is of course provided that they did release a model with the arm rests, I am not sure about that.

On the e46 the armrest isnt attacheted to the seat at all. afaik.

Its just part of the centre console, i would do as LZ suggested and try to find one at a scrapyard.
I think you just change the centre console. not 100% sure though.

That's right yes. The armrest is incorp'd into the centre console. The cupholder segment is still a seperate item. What colour is your interior? I can ask my local boytjies if they have any.

Black leather seats and console with that funky wood finish. (Uggg)

as for replacing your euro tray with cup holders :slap: seriously, the e46 cupholders look sooo siff, why the fuck it never came with decent ones is beyond me. The e90 ones in the dash are the business

Handy yes, but I have to agree. I bought a 99 328i a couple of years ago. The car had those cupholders in. When they delivered the car to me, they changed it around for a standard holder.

They collect dust and grime like you will not believe.

Centre console cupholder is R400.00. Just pop out the old one, and clip in the new one.
New centre console with armrest will set you back R 3 321.00.

These are new from the agents. My local boytjies don't have anything for us.
