Change 1 tyre ?

Hi,

My wife had a blow out on one of her front tyres, I immediately thought that I'd now need to change both fronts but I've heard the below from a friend and wanted to verify.

So apparently because the car has a square setup and still plenty life in the other tyres I can switch out the one broken tyre and do a rotation so it's in the back and It's all good...

Is this true ?

That should will work, just get same brand and model of tyre.
